Ricordea yuma mushrooms generally prefer lower to moderate lighting and gentle water flow, making them an excellent choice for lower areas of the aquarium. Once settled into a suitable location, they can expand considerably and develop their characteristic bubble-like texture.

Placement & Care

Place your Sun god Yuma Mushroom in an area with gentle, indirect water movement. Excessively strong flow can cause the mushroom to remain contracted or detach in search of a more suitable location.

When introducing a Yuma to stronger reef lighting, gradual acclimation is recommended. Starting lower in the aquarium allows the coral to adjust before being moved into brighter areas if desired.

Yuma mushrooms receive much of their energy through photosynthesis but can also capture small particles of appropriately sized coral foods.

Give the mushroom some room from neighboring corals as it grows and expands.
