Wyoming White Clownfish
Wyoming White Clownfish (Amphiprion ocellaris)
The Wyoming White Clownfish is a distinctive designer variety of Ocellaris Clownfish known for its predominantly white body and bold irregular black markings. Rather than the traditional three clean orange-and-white bars, Wyoming White specimens typically display extensive white coloration with varying amounts of black around the body and fins. Each fish can develop its own unique pattern, making individual specimens particularly appealing to collectors.
Like other Ocellaris Clownfish, the Wyoming White is generally hardy, adaptable, and well suited to reef aquariums. Its bright white coloration provides excellent contrast against live rock, colorful corals, and darker backgrounds, while its active and personable behavior adds plenty of character to the aquarium.

Placement & Flow
Wyoming White Clownfish are comfortable around live rock, caves, overhangs, and other structures where they can establish a preferred territory. They are active swimmers but generally remain close to a chosen area once settled.
Moderate water movement is appropriate. Provide good circulation and oxygenation while maintaining calmer areas where the fish can rest. A secure environment with plenty of hiding places is particularly beneficial when first introducing the fish.
As the fish matures, it may become territorial, especially if kept as part of a bonded pair. They are generally peaceful toward most suitable reef tankmates but can defend their immediate territory from other clownfish or similarly shaped species.
Feeding
Wyoming White Clownfish are omnivores and benefit from a varied diet offered in small portions once or twice daily.
Good food choices include high-quality marine pellets, flakes, mysis shrimp, enriched brine shrimp, finely chopped seafood, and other appropriately sized frozen marine foods. Rotating several food types provides a broader nutritional profile and helps support healthy growth and coloration.
Avoid overfeeding and remove uneaten food when practical to help maintain excellent water quality.
The Wyoming White Clownfish is an excellent choice for reef keepers looking for a hardy, personable fish with a distinctive designer pattern. Its striking white coloration, contrasting black markings, and classic Ocellaris personality make it a standout addition to both beginner-friendly and established reef aquariums.
