Clove Polyps generally thrive under low to moderate reef lighting with moderate, indirect water movement. Enough flow should be provided to gently move the polyps and prevent debris from accumulating around the colony without constantly forcing the polyps closed.

They can be placed directly on your reef rock, where they may gradually spread and form a larger colony. Because Clove Polyps can grow quickly under favorable conditions, placing them on an isolated rock can make it easier to control their spread.

Clove Polyps receive most of their nutritional needs through photosynthesis but may also capture small suspended food particles from the water column.

Stable reef parameters and consistent salinity, temperature, and alkalinity will help encourage healthy growth and polyp extension.
