Green Bubble Coral (Plerogyra sinuosa)
The Green Bubble Coral is a classic LPS coral known for its large, inflated bubble-like vesicles and beautiful fluorescent green coloration. When fully expanded, its fleshy bubbles create a unique appearance unlike almost any other coral in the reef aquarium, making it an excellent centerpiece for an LPS or mixed reef display.
During the day, the coral typically inflates its signature bubbles to capture light. After the lights dim, the bubbles may partially retract as feeding and sweeper tentacles emerge.

Placement & Flow
Green Bubble Coral prefers gentle, indirect water movement. Its large fleshy vesicles should move naturally without being aggressively blown around. Excessive flow can prevent full expansion and may cause the delicate tissue to rub against the coral's skeleton.
Give your Bubble Coral plenty of room from neighboring corals. It can extend sweeper tentacles—especially after the lights go out—that are capable of stinging nearby corals.
Lighting
Green Bubble Coral generally thrives under low to moderate reef lighting. Gradual light acclimation is recommended when introducing the coral to a new aquarium, particularly when moving it into stronger lighting.
Feeding
Bubble Corals receive much of their nutritional needs through photosynthesis, but occasional supplemental feeding can support healthy growth. Small portions of mysis, quality LPS pellets, or other appropriately sized meaty foods can be offered when feeding tentacles are extended.
With its oversized fluorescent green bubbles, dramatic expansion, and unmistakable appearance, the Green Bubble Coral is a timeless LPS favorite that can become an incredible centerpiece as it grows.
