Placement & Flow

Place the Dragon Soul Torch on stable rockwork with plenty of open space around the colony. The fleshy tentacles can extend well beyond the skeleton, particularly when the coral is fully expanded, so adequate clearance from neighboring corals is important.

Provide moderate, indirect and variable flow. The tentacles should gently sway in the current rather than being constantly pushed in one direction. Avoid concentrated flow directly against the heads, which can prevent proper expansion and potentially damage the tissue.

Torch corals can be aggressive toward neighboring corals and may produce sweeper tentacles, especially at night. Allow several inches of separation from other corals and leave additional room for the colony to expand as new heads develop.

Lighting
