Their rounded oral discs are surrounded by textured skirts that add definition and movement when the polyps are fully extended.

Each frag contains an average of 4+ polyps, providing a well-started group with room to develop into a fuller colony. Like other Zoanthus varieties, Tutti Frutti Zoanthids spread by producing new polyps from a connecting mat, gradually covering the surrounding surface under favorable conditions. Placement & Flow

Place the Tutti Frutti Zoanthid Frag on lower-to-middle rockwork where it receives moderate, indirect water movement. The polyps should remain comfortably open with their skirts moving gently rather than being continuously folded over by strong current.

Once established, new polyps can spread onto surrounding rockwork. Leave enough room for colony development, or place the frag on an isolated zoanthid rock if you prefer to keep its future growth contained.

Lighting

Tutti Frutti Zoanthids generally perform well under approximately 75–150 PAR. Moderate lighting provides a good balance between healthy growth, polyp extension, and coloration without requiring the intensity typically associated with SPS corals.

Gradually acclimate the frag when introducing it to substantially stronger lighting. Blue-spectrum reef lighting can emphasize the fluorescent pigments and contrasting colors associated with this morph, while a balanced spectrum provides a more natural representation of its overall coloration.

Feeding

Tutti Frutti Zoanthids are primarily photosynthetic, receiving much of their energy through symbiotic dinoflagellates within their tissues. Regular target feeding is generally unnecessary when maintained under appropriate lighting and stable reef conditions.

The polyps can capture very small suspended particles, so occasional additions of fine particulate coral foods or appropriately sized zooplankton-based foods can provide supplemental nutrition. Heavy feeding is unnecessary.

As with all zoanthids, appropriate precautions should be taken when handling or fragging. Zoanthids may contain palytoxin or related compounds, so gloves and eye protection are recommended, and they should never be boiled, exposed to hot water, or handled around open cuts.
