Placement & Care

Plum Hammer Corals prefer low to moderate, indirect water flow that allows their fleshy tentacles to gently sway. Avoid placing them directly in strong current, which can prevent full extension and potentially damage their delicate tissue.

Moderate reef lighting is generally ideal. When introducing a new Hammer Coral, gradual light acclimation can help the coral adjust to your aquarium's lighting conditions.

Provide adequate space between your Plum Hammer and neighboring corals. Hammer Corals can extend sweeper tentacles, particularly after the lights go down, and may sting nearby livestock.
