Orange Octospawn

Bring bold color and flowing movement to your reef with our Orange Octospawn. This beautiful LPS coral features fleshy, branching tentacles with vibrant orange coloration that creates an incredible glow under blue-heavy reef lighting. As the polyps fully extend, the Octospawn develops a soft, flowing appearance that makes it an excellent centerpiece for any mixed reef aquarium.

Octospawn is closely related to Frogspawn and is prized for its unique multi-tipped tentacles, excellent movement, and relatively straightforward care requirements. Give it enough room to expand and enjoy one of the most eye-catching LPS corals in the reef hobby.

Feeding: Primarily photosynthetic; occasional LPS pellets or small meaty foods can support growth
Recommended Parameters: Stable reef conditions with consistent alkalinity, calcium, and magnesium

Placement & Flow

Place your Orange Octospawn where it receives gentle to moderate, indirect flow. The tentacles should sway naturally without being whipped around or forced against the skeleton. Allow several inches of space between it and neighboring corals to account for expansion and potential sweeper tentacles.

Lighting

Orange Octospawn generally performs well under low to moderate reef lighting. Start new specimens lower in the aquarium and gradually acclimate them to stronger lighting when necessary.

Feeding

Octospawn receives much of its nutritional needs through photosynthesis, but occasional supplemental feeding can encourage healthy growth. Small portions of quality LPS food, mysis, or appropriately sized meaty foods can be offered approximately once per week.

Orange Octospawn is an excellent choice for reef keepers looking for a colorful LPS coral with plenty of movement without the higher demands of many SPS corals.
