Placement & Flow
Place the Indo Blue Tip Green Torch on a stable section of rockwork with plenty of open space around it. Torch coral tentacles can extend considerably beyond the skeleton and can develop long sweeper tentacles, so generous spacing from neighboring corals is important.
Moderate, indirect flow is ideal. The tentacles should gently sway back and forth rather than being continuously pushed in one direction. Avoid strong, concentrated flow that prevents full expansion or causes the tissue to repeatedly contact the skeleton.
Because torch corals can be aggressive toward neighboring corals, allow several inches of clearance and consider additional space as the colony develops more heads.
Lighting
Indo Green Torch corals generally perform well under 80–150 PAR. Moderate lighting is typically sufficient for maintaining healthy tissue, coloration, and growth.
When introducing a new WYSIWYG specimen, gradually acclimate it to your aquarium's lighting, especially if your system produces significantly higher PAR than its previous environment. Sudden changes in light intensity can cause unnecessary stress and reduced polyp extension.
Blue-heavy reef lighting can bring out the fluorescent green coloration and make the blue tips particularly noticeable, while a balanced spectrum provides a more natural representation of the coral's overall appearance.
Feeding
Euphyllia glabrescens is primarily photosynthetic, but supplemental feeding can provide additional nutrition and support growth and head development.
When the tentacles are fully extended, offer appropriately sized foods such as mysis shrimp, finely chopped marine seafood, small zooplankton-based foods, or quality LPS coral foods. Feeding once or twice per week can be beneficial depending on the aquarium's nutrient levels and overall feeding schedule.
Avoid oversized food particles and allow sufficient water movement after feeding to help distribute nutrients and prevent food from accumulating around the coral.
