MicroBacter7 - 250 ml

Brightwell Aquatics MicroBacter7 is a complex of non-pathogenic aerobic and anaerobic microorganisms combined with natural enzymes. It is formulated to establish biological filtration and support nitrification, denitrification, organic-waste degradation and nutrient remineralization.

The microbial culture digests uneaten food, waste, detritus and other organic material while supporting reductions in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, phosphate and organic carbon. These processes can improve water clarity and help maintain a cleaner aquarium substrate.

Shake the bottle thoroughly before use and prevent aquarium water from entering the container. Refrigeration is not required, although cool storage can prolong bacterial activity.

Shake well before every use.

Mix the required dose with 250 ml, approximately 8 fl. oz., of aquarium water in a clean container before adding it to the aquarium.

Medium- to high-nutrient systems or new aquariums:
Add 5 ml, or 1 capful, per 25 US gallons (94.6 L) daily for the first two weeks. This equals approximately 4 drops per US gallon.

After two weeks, change to the stable low-nutrient maintenance dosage.

Stable low-nutrient systems:
Choose one of the following schedules:

• 5 ml per 50 US gallons no more than once weekly
• 1 ml per 50 US gallons daily
• 1 ml per 25 US gallons every other day

Changes to biological filtration or increased livestock:
Add 1 ml per 25 US gallons daily for one week, then return to the low-nutrient maintenance dosage.

Do not exceed 1 ml per 25 US gallons daily during maintenance dosing.

Turn off protein skimming and UV sterilization for four hours after every dose.

For best dispersion, add the prepared mixture to an external biological filtration system when available. Do not add it directly to a pump intake.

No permanent installation is required.

Before dosing:
1. Calculate the aquarium’s actual total water volume.
2. Shake the bottle thoroughly.
3. Measure the appropriate dose.
4. Mix it with 250 ml of aquarium water in a clean container.
5. Add the mixture to the external biological filtration system when available.
6. Do not add it directly to a pump intake.
7. Turn off protein skimming and UV sterilization for four hours.
8. Resume normal filtration after the four-hour period.

If using a pipette below the water level, clean it thoroughly with fresh water before placing it back into the MicroBacter7 bottle.

Refrigeration is not required.

Store in a cool, shaded location to prolong microbial activity. Refrigeration can maximize the product’s shelf life.

The manufacturer states a shelf life of two years from the manufacture date and recommends using the product within one year of purchase for best results.

Prevent aquarium water from entering the bottle. A contaminated pipette or dosing tool may contaminate the product.

Keep out of reach of children. Not for human consumption.

Nutrients remain elevated:
Confirm the aquarium’s actual water volume and use the appropriate medium- to high-nutrient dosage. Continue testing ammonia, nitrite, nitrate and phosphate while maintaining good aquarium husbandry.

Water becomes cloudy:
Temporary bacterial cloudiness may occur after dosing. Follow the recommended dosage and maintain appropriate aeration.

Results decline after the first two weeks:
Switch from the initial dosage to one of the manufacturer’s low-nutrient maintenance schedules. Adjust according to testing and the aquarium’s response.

Nutrients become too low:
Reduce the dose or dosing frequency. The manufacturer states that some aquariums can maintain suitable conditions with up to a 50% reduction.

The product may have been contaminated:
Never return an unclean pipette to the bottle after contact with aquarium water. Use clean equipment for every dose.

The aquarium recently received more livestock:
Add 1 ml per 25 US gallons daily for one week, then return to the regular maintenance schedule.

Protein skimming may be removing the bacteria:
Turn off protein skimming and UV sterilization for four hours after dosing.

The product was added to a pump intake:
Avoid repeating this method. Add the prepared mixture to the aquarium or external biological filtration system away from pump intake ports.
