Black Ice Clownfish (Amphiprion ocellaris)

The Black Ice Clownfish is a distinctive designer variety of the Ocellaris Clownfish, valued for its high-contrast patterning and dark coloration. Placement & Flow

Black Ice Clownfish are active swimmers that spend much of their time around rockwork, aquarium structures, or a preferred host. Provide plenty of open swimming space along with caves, ledges, and other areas where the fish can retreat when needed.

Moderate, well-distributed water movement is ideal. Avoid excessively strong flow that makes it difficult for the fish to maintain position, while still providing enough circulation to maintain good oxygenation and water quality.

Black Ice Clownfish can become territorial as they mature, particularly once paired. A bonded pair may defend a small area of the aquarium, so additional peaceful fish should be given adequate space and hiding areas.

Feeding

Black Ice Clownfish are omnivores and should be offered a varied diet to support healthy growth, coloration, and overall condition. Feed small portions once or twice daily, adjusting the amount according to the size and activity of the fish.

Good food choices include high-quality marine pellets, flakes, frozen mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, finely chopped seafood, and other marine-based prepared foods. Variety is preferable to relying on a single food source.

While clownfish may readily accept prepared foods, occasional frozen foods can provide useful nutritional variety. Remove uneaten food when practical to help maintain water quality.
